My Return & Refund Policy

Custom & Ready-to-Wear Reworks (Final Sale)

Because my pieces are one-of-a-kind, handcrafted in my studio, and engineered entirely from curated, reclaimed vintage and thrifted materials, all purchases—including custom orders, ready-to-wear collection drops, and in-person market items—are final sale.

Every garment is a unique collaborative journey or a standalone work of art. Because I work exclusively with authentic, pre-loved textiles, subtle variations in texture, fade, or minimal signs of historical wear are completely natural characteristics of sustainable, upcycled fashion. They add to the exclusive story of your piece! For this reason, I cannot accept returns, refunds, or exchanges if an item doesn't fit the way you hoped or if you change your mind. I always include detailed measurements in my listings, and I strongly recommend checking them against a favorite garment in your closet before purchasing.

Order Cancellations & Modifications

  • Ready-to-Wear Drops: If you purchase a finished piece from a collection release, please reach out to me within 24 hours if you need to cancel or modify your order, provided I haven't shipped it out yet.

  • Custom Commission Slots: Deposits paid to secure a custom project slot are non-refundable. They secure your specific place in my production schedule and go directly toward sourcing the specific vintage materials for your design.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

I take immense pride in the craftsmanship and structural integrity of my reworks. If your item arrives with a genuine structural defect unrelated to its vintage history (like a failed seam or a broken zipper) or if I accidentally sent you the wrong package, please contact me within 5 days of delivery.

  • Please drop me an email with your order number and a few clear photos of the issue.

  • If it's a structural issue, I will happily send you a prepaid shipping label so you can mail it back to my Madison studio, and I will repair it for you completely free of charge.

Shipping & Lost Packages

Once I hand your package over to the shipping carrier, August Jones is no longer responsible for transit delays, packages marked as delivered that go missing, or carrier theft. If your tracking says delivered but it hasn't turned up, please contact the carrier directly to file a locator claim.
